Steps to Cancel
- 1Go to account.grammarly.com/subscription and sign in
- 2Scroll to the bottom of the Subscription page
- 3Click Cancel Subscription
- 4In the modal, click Continue to proceed past the first confirmation gate
- 5Select a reason for cancellation from the dropdown (required)
- 6Decline any discount or pause retention offers shown
- 7Click Cancel Subscription to finalize

If you subscribed via Apple or Google Play, Grammarly support cannot help you cancel. You must cancel through the correct platform — many users don't know which platform they subscribed through.
Uninstalling the browser extension, desktop app, or mobile app does NOT cancel the subscription. Billing continues regardless.
The Cancel Subscription button is buried at the bottom of the subscription page, behind a multi-step modal with two confirmation screens.
A discount or pause offer is injected mid-flow during cancellation. Users who aren't careful can accidentally accept a retention offer instead of completing cancellation.

Your account reverts to the Free tier. All documents and writing history remain accessible. Advanced features (plagiarism checker, tone detection, AI prompts beyond 100/month) are removed.
