Steps to Cancel
- 1Log in at canva.com
- 2Click your profile icon in the top right and select Settings
- 3Go to Payments and plans, then Billing
- 4Click Cancel plan under your current plan
- 5Click Continue cancellation (decline any discount or pause offers)
- 6Choose a reason from the dropdown (required)

- 8Check your email for a cancellation confirmation

You must cancel through the same channel you subscribed. If you subscribed on the web, cancelling via the App Store or Google Play won't work — and vice versa. Canva doesn't clearly tell you which channel your subscription is on.
Canva shows a retention offer (discounted pricing, free months, or a pause option) before confirming cancellation. You must click 'Continue cancellation' to get past it — some users miss this and think they've cancelled when they haven't.
The pause option (up to 3 months) is prominently offered during the cancel flow. After 3 months, the subscription resumes and charges you automatically.
Annual plan cancellations get no prorated refund. Cancel a $120/year plan after month 1 and you lose the remaining 11 months of value.
Deleting the Canva app on iOS or Android does NOT cancel the subscription. The App Store or Play Store billing continues.
If you have multiple Canva accounts (common with Google sign-in creating duplicates), you may be cancelling the wrong one while the active subscription keeps billing on a different account.
Designs using premium Pro assets display watermarks after downgrading — your work looks broken without a paid plan.
Canva Teams pricing jumped 300%+ in late 2024 (from ~$120/year flat to $100/user/year minimum 3 seats). Existing teams were auto-migrated to the new pricing.

Access
You keep access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, then your account reverts to Canva Free.
Your data
All designs remain saved in your account permanently. Designs using Pro-only assets (premium photos, fonts) will display watermarks after downgrade. Storage drops from 1 TB to 5 GB.
