Steps to Cancel
- 1Open the Robinhood app and log in
- 2Tap the Account icon (person) in the bottom right corner
- 3Tap Menu (three bars) → Investing → Robinhood Gold
- 4Scroll down and tap 'Cancel membership'
- 5Follow the prompts to confirm the downgrade

Watch Out
If you have a Robinhood Gold Credit Card, you must close the card account first before you can cancel Gold. The app will block cancellation while the card is active. Contact Gold Card Support via Menu → Help → Gold Card Support to close the card.
If you have an outstanding margin balance, you must repay it (by depositing cash or selling positions) before you can downgrade from Gold. The app will not let you cancel with margin debt.
Cancellation stops auto-renewal but does not typically produce a prorated refund for the unused portion of your billing cycle.
Any pending deposit boost payouts will be lost when you cancel Gold.
If you have the High-Yield Cash Program enabled, it will be disabled when the current billing cycle ends after downgrading.
If you have margin investing enabled and downgrade from Gold, you will accrue margin interest on your full margin balance — including the first $1,000 that was previously interest-free under Gold.
The 30-day free trial auto-converts to a paid subscription. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.
What Happens After You Cancel
Access
You keep Gold features (higher APY, Morningstar research, Level II data, larger Instant Deposits) until the end of your current billing cycle. After that, your account reverts to a standard free Robinhood account.
Your data
Your Robinhood investing account and all holdings remain intact. Only Gold-specific perks are removed.
